About Laser Dentistry
For a lot of soft-tissue dental work, a laser is now genuinely a better tool than a scalpel. It cuts more precisely, seals blood vessels as it goes (so much less bleeding), and sterilises the area at the same time — which is why people heal faster and infection is rarer. We use FDA-approved soft and hard tissue lasers for gum reshaping, cavity preparation, certain biopsies, frenectomy, and treatment of gum disease.
Dr. Ayesha is a certified laser practitioner. Where the laser is the right tool, we use it; where a traditional approach gives a better result, we tell you. There's no point picking the technique by what sounds modern.
How it works
- 01
Is the laser the right tool here?
Not every procedure is. We talk through what we're treating and why a laser does (or doesn't) make sense for your case.
- 02
Eyewear on
You and the team wear protective glasses — standard precaution.
- 03
Treatment
The laser is directed precisely at the area. Soft-tissue work is often done with no injection.
- 04
Sterilisation built in
The laser sterilises as it works, which is why infection rates are lower than with traditional methods.
- 05
Aftercare
Usually a short list of instructions. Most people get back to their day the same evening.
